&Tradition’s Formakami JH5 pendant light is Jaime Hayón’s modern take on classic Asian paper lanterns. His aim was to create a light pendant that illuminates people’s lives both literally and symbolically. The white color of the shade emphasizes the lightness of rice paper and the open bottom maximizes the amount of light. Black stained oak rings give Formakami’s handmade shade a pleasant rhythm. Hayón, known for his playful designs, has combined round shapes in different sizes, and the end result is a collection of three unique pendant lights.
