Nedre Foss’ Vannfall glass jug, created by the Japanese designer Jin Kuramoto, is a sturdy glass pitcher featuring a nuanced surface with an organic texture. Kuramoto’s design process was driven by shapes and textures instead of materials: he was fascinated by the rough feel and irregularities of the first prototypes and decided to experiment with different materials and techniques to find the best combination. The final version is made from mouth-blown glass, which emphasizes the uneven texture and leaves room for the play of light and colors.
