Tavolo con Ruote, designed by Gae Aulenti for FontanaArte in 1980, is a coffee table that plays with industrial esthetics and modern minimalism. Aulenti got the idea for the table from industrial trolleys used at FontanaArte’s factory to transport glass – she replaced the trolley’s wooden shelf with a thick sheet of glass and combined it with large, free-rolling industrial wheels.
